義工隊訓練---保護雞蛋行動 Volunteer Team Training — Protect the Egg Activity

 

為了保護珍貴的雞蛋，隊員們想盡方法，為雞蛋製作合適而堅固的「家」。欣見他們挑戰成功的喜悅、欣賞他們的彼此配合、欣喜他們在過程中有所得著。結果是重要，但過程亦要珍惜，更要的是知道為何而做。在義工服務中，大家也有核心信念，有如「雞蛋」般重要，需要大家一同守護，就是「用愛心關懷服務對象，不求回報」。隊員們透過活動開始明白這道理。

To protect a fragile egg, team members devised all kinds of ways to build a suitable, sturdy “home” for it. We celebrated their joy at succeeding, appreciated their teamwork, and were glad they each learned something through the process. Results matter, but so does the journey — and, importantly, understanding why we do it. In volunteer service there are core values that, like the egg, must be protected together: to serve those in need with love and care, without expecting anything in return. Through this activity the team began to grasp that principle.
